What The Papers Say - 17 February

Saturday’s Daily Mirror points to reports in Italy that Everton could make a summer move for Atalanta midfielder Josip Ilicic.

Calciomercato suggest the Blues are interested in the attack-minded Slovenian playmaker, who only joined Atalanta last July after four years with Serie A rivals Fiorentina.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mail speculate that deadline-day loan arrival Eliaquim Mangala may have suffered a “significant” knee injury in last weekend’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Sam Allardyce is quoted in the Liverpool Echo, saying he hopes this week’s warm-weather camp in Dubai can help his squad “bond” and “move forward together,” while defender Michael Keane appears in the same paper explaining why Toffees teammate Oumar Niasse is “a nightmare” to play against in training.
