Silva And Brands In June Magazine

The June issue of the Everton magazine is now on sale.

The cover star is, of course, the Blues’ new manager Marco Silva. The Portuguese outlines his vision for the future now that he is in the Goodison Park hotseat.

Working closely alongside Silva will be the Club’s new Director of Football, Marcel Brands. The Dutchman has enjoyed plenty of success back in his native Holland with former clubs RKC Waalwijk, AZ Alkmaar and PSV Eindhoven, and he reveals what drew him to Merseyside and sets out his priorities for Everton’s future.

With the tournament now under way, there is a World Cup feel to this month’s magazine with the late, great Ray Wilson topping the bill. In an interview conducted with the Everton Former Players’ Foundation some 15 years ago, the former Toffees and England full-back discusses lifting the Jules Rimet Trophy back in 1966.

The Everton magazine also sat down with Iceland's Gylfi Sigurdsson and Senegal's Idrissa Gana Gueye to get their thoughts on realising their boyhood dreams of representing their countries at the World Cup.

One of the classiest defensive operators in English football in the 1970s is featured this month. Colin Todd was already a two-time title winner before he arrived at Goodison, and he looks back fondly at his time in the royal blue jersey - and insists that Everton could have provided him with a third Championship medal.

Elsewhere, Jose Baxter reveals who he credits at the Club for ‘turning my life around’, there is a look at the Everton influence on the England Under-21’s victory at the recent Toulon Tournament, and we feature an up-and-coming band called the DMA’S who are fronted by a massive Evertonian - and have had a glowing reference from a certain Liam Gallagher.

All in the June issue of the Everton magazine – available from all good retail outlets, priced at £3.95. Click here for more information and details on digital editions.
