Thursday's Daily Mail links the Blues with Bayer Leverkusen’s Brazilian left-back Wendell.

The paper reports that the 24-year-old is valued at around £32million by the Bundesliga club.

The Liverpool Echo suggests Everton are interested in signing Wigan Athletic’s teenage striker Callum Lang.

The boyhood Blue spent last season on loan at Morecambe, where he hit 10 goals for the League Two side.

The Echo speculates Stoke City’s Badou Ndiaye could be also be a transfer target for the Toffees. The midfielder is currently on World Cup duty with Senegal alongside Idrissa Gana Gueye.

And the local read features Gylfi Sigurdsson, who says he is hopeful Iceland can “achieve something fantastic” and qualify for the last 16 of the World Cup. Iceland kicked off their campaign in Russia with an impressive draw against Argentina and play Nigeria on Friday in their second group stage game.
